13 Related party transactions

Included in other debtors are the amounts of £64,618 due from General Federation of Trade Unions and £35 due to GFTU ET.

Included in other creditors are £nil due to (2016 – £nil) General Federation of Trade Unions and £nil (2016 – £30,195) due to GFTU ET.

These balances arose as a result of employer expenses being paid by the scheme and pensions being paid by the GFTU and GFTU ET.

These organisations are related parties by virtue of being under common control.

14 Contingencies and commitments

In the opinion of the trustees the scheme had no contingent assets or liabilities and no contractual commitments as at 31 December 2017 (2016 – nil).
