50 I have been invited to attend a small meeting in Utrecht looking at arts and cultural work to support the Ocalan campaign. I will attend if possible. But it looks unlikely. 51 I addressed the Venezuela Solidarity AGM and will chair the forthcoming meeting for trade unionists updating on the current situation.

I have attended a meeting of the UK Vietnam Network.

53 The Vietnamese General Confederation of Labour will visit us December 11-15 for a study trip looking particularly at health and safety. They will stay in Quorn. Workplace visits will be needed.

The GFTU has re affiliated to Cuba Solidarity and Justice for Colombia.

56 I am part of the trade union group in support of the Freedom for Ocalan Campaign. This is chaired by Simon Dubbins International Officer of Unite, Bert Schowenberg International officer of GMB Is Treasurer and Steve Smellie of UNISON Is the Secretary. Christine Blower International Officer of NUT Is also part of this group. I hope affiliates will consider affiliating to this new body.

Other Work.

57 I was asked to pay tribute to Jack Gould of the former AEU who was a longstanding Secretary and Treasurer of Coventry Trade Union Council and an exceptional trade unionist in some of the most organised factories in Britain.

Staff Supervisions have continued throughout this period.

I chaired the interview panel for the new Education Administrator’s position.
