This one day course, at held at Quorn, is ideal for those working in low-hazard environments, such as a commercial business or an office. It is also suitable for organisations whose First Aid needs assessment identifies the need for somebody trained in Emergency First Aid. The Emergency First Aid at Work Course provides participants with the skills and confidence to respond to a range of First Aid emergencies, which they could encounter within the workplace. ADVANCED SKILLS
• A stroke • Heart attacks and angina attacks • Diabetic emergency • Severe allergic reaction • An asthma attack • Head injuries Successful participants will receive a First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
This course is suitable for those who may need to provide First Aid to someone who is injured, or becomes ill, while at work. It also includes training on specific injuries and illnesses that may well have been identified in your unions First Aid needs assessment. This three day course, held at Quorn, covers – in addition to the skills covered in the one day option – training to help participants recognise and treat a wider range of injuries and medical conditions. These include, but are not restricted to: • Bone, muscle and joint injuries

• Understanding your back, anatomy and physiology • An introduction to ergonomics and to the biomechanics of movement • A basic guide to risk assessment Successful participants will receive an ‘Introduction to Moving & Handling’ certificate, which is valid for three years.
More time is lost through time off work as the result of injuries caused by poor lifting and carrying techniques than through any other injury at work. This practical half-day course, held at Quorn, is suitable for any worker age 16 or over and provides an introduction to moving and handling techniques.
