Politics, Democracy & Organising Change for Trade Unionists Politics happens all around us. Sometimes it seems to happen, almost, without us noticing it. All too often trade unions content themselves with the ‘bread and butter’ issues of wage claims and working conditions. However, they have a wider political role as well. They need to be able to shape our society and make the rules fairer, rather than just accepting things as they are. This is where politics come in. These GFTU courses range from introductions to political ideas to practical explorations of the ways and means of getting involved and elected.
