GFTU BGCM Minutes 2017
put a lot of force to end the clash between PKK and the Turkish Government.
He prepared a road map and negotiations started in 2013 at Imrali Island.
There were representatives from AKP and from the State as well. It took two
years. After two years they have an agreement which is called the
Dolmabahce Agreement. There were ten articles in that agreement. If you
look at the ten articles you cannot see any words that mention about Kurds or
Kurdish or Kurdistan. All the ten articles are about Turkey’s democratisation, to
become a democratic country, to respect human rights, to make a constitution
where all differences can find themselves in that constitution.
But what happens? Mr. Erdoğan after a while said that he does not accept the
Dolmabahce Agreement, he does not care about it, there is no Kurdish
question and he ended the peace process. After that, war started again and it

Armenian MPs, we have Azerbaijan MPs, Alevis MPs, we have Christian MPs
actually. HDP reflects the mirror of Turkey. It was Mr. Öcalan’s idea and his project. In the June 7 th election, MPs from the Kurdish community, they are
included in the election as independent. This was the first time as a party we
are involved in an election. Mr. Erdoğan tried to convince us, “Don’t get into
election as a party, you can have 20 MPs, and for you the peace process will
continue”. He said to us, “If you do such a thing, the peace process will continue”, but we did not accept it, we joined the election, June 7 th . There was
an election threshold, 10% was the threshold. It was brought by General Evren
in 1980 after the army coup. They changed the constitution in 1982 and they
put 10% election threshold, because of Kurds. They do not want the Kurds to
go to Parliament to represent in the Parliament. We passed the election
threshold with 80 MPs. It was the first time after 13 years Mr. Erdoğan could
