New Reps Development is designed as a comprehensive grounding for new Workplace Representatives and Shop Stewards, equipping them with the skills needed for organising, campaigning and recruitment around members; as well as for protecting those rights at work. This two day course, held at Quorn, will cover: • Rights at work • Contracts of Employment • The roles & responsibilities of Trade Union Reps
• Handling cases • The nature of a Grievance • Good practice guidelines • An introduction to ACAS • Recognition agreements & facilities time • An introduction to the wider Labour Movement and its history • Organising around issues in the workplace
