Hotel Directors Meeting March 2020
Update from GFTU Operations Manager (March 2020).
HR related:
Corona virus could have an impact on the Hotel and we need to be responsive to this fast changing issue. A GFTU vacancy (Office Support Worker) created when Kona Seisay recently left was promoted externally and to Hotel staff, Suzanne Bielewicz, of the Housekeeping Team was successful with her application and starts in the role on 10 th March. A comprehensive Induction will take place. There are currently no other vacancies being advertised for the Hotel (in line with the agreed recruitment strategy). A set of draft pay scales were produced for the Hotel, these were shared by Tim and the Directors are currently considering. We have yet to make a decision with Doug on adopting the Croner HR Management system, Croner would also be interested in becoming a Win:Win partner. As stated above, Corona virus could have an impact on the Hotel and we need to be responsive to this fast changing issue. There are a number of site development snagging matters and incomplete work by Tomlinson’s (or their sub-contractors) that require attention, we are liasing with Mark Childs of HMC to resolve. Tyco have undertaken a test of the Hotel’s Emergency lighting and Fire alarm system and identified some significant work that will be undertaken, in line with the first 2 site priorities (1. Making things safe. 2. Protecting the GFTU’s Assets) this work has been ordered – the cost will be met by Tomlinsons. The recent Fire Risk Assessment has been adopted (GFTU Offices and Hotel) and will be routinely reviewed at the site-wide Health and Safety Working group meeting to ensure the actions are being picked up. The transfer of Neil High and Gary Shenton of the site team from the Hotel to GFTU payroll is done. Health and Safety related:
Road signage has been installed to try to manage some erratic driving around the site.
